BuCor chief support revival of Death penalty: ‘Di takot drug lords makulong!'




Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gerald Bantag supports the call of the President for the revival of the death penalty by lethal injection.

Bantag supports the reimposition of the deah penalty because according to him it will serve as an ending to the and as a solution to ending the continued narcotics trading of drug lords behind bars..

“Nakikita naman natin at nababalitan na kahit pa ang tatagal na nilang nakakulong dito,” he said during during a radio interview.

“Ano ang ginagawa nila, imbis na magbagong buhay…lalong nagpapakasama,” he lamented.
The BuCor chief said that imprisonment does not hinder the drug lords/ traders in their control of their illegal business just like ordering of assasinations of those people they feel that are threat to them.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the fifth (5th) State of the Nation Address (SONA) last Monday (July 27), vowed that under his term he will revive the death penalty against those involved in illegal drugs.

“This law will not only help us deter criminality but also save our children from the dangers posed by the illegal and dangerous drugs,” he stated.
