‘Love Ko Pa Rin Kayo’ Reynel Hugnatan responds to accusations in the ‘luto’ incident
Meralco Bolts veteran Reynel Hugnatan has denied the allegation that it was him who shouted the controversial “Ref, lutong luto ‘to ah” while Game Three was ongoing in the semifinals round of PBA Philippine Cup against Barangay Ginebra.
Fans were quick to point fingers at Hugnatan after he coincidentally complained at the officials with 10:04 left in the fourth period, and was slapped with a technical foul.
The 42-year old became the alleged culprit since he also happened to be around the center court, near the amplified microphone, when the ‘luto’ statement was heard on live television and online.
Still, Hugnatan maintained his innocence although he doesn’t have any heat with the bashers.
“Sure ako, hindi ako ang nagsabi ‘nun,” Hugnatan said to SPIN.ph a day after a 84-91 loss against Ginebra.
“Hindi ko na pinapansin mga ‘yan. Alam ko naman kung ano ang totoo. Kasi kapag pinansin mo pa ‘yan, baka ma-stress ka lang.”
In fact, Hugnatan has nothing but love to both his fans and haters even though he was unfairly tagged in the said incident.
“Sure ako kapag nalaman nila na hindi pala ako ang nagsabi, wag kayo mag-alala, love ko pa rin kayo,” he said.
