Wrestling star Brodie Lee dies at 41
American professional wrestler Jon Huber, recently known as Mr. Brodie Lee in All Elite Wrestling, has passed away due to a non-COVID related lung issue.
He was only 41.
Huber’s wife Amanda shared this unfortunate news on Sunday through her Instagram account.
“My best friend died today. I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet,” Amanda wrote in her caption while also uploading pictures of Huber and their children.
“No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now. He passed surrounded by love ones after a hard fought battle with a non Covid related lung issue.”
The wrestling world mourned at the loss of the 6-foot-5, 275-pound behemoth, who was also a beloved figure in the industry.
AEW founders Tony Khan and Cody Rhodes, as well as WWE executives Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, remembered Huber as great wrestler and a father to his family.
Huber started to gain fame during his stint with WWE as Luke Harper where he was member of the “Wyatt Family” while also becoming a one-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and two-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion.
He would be released by WWE in 2019 and made his debut in AEW in early 2020s where rose in the main event scene as the leader of faction called “Dark Order” and became the AEW TNT Champion.
Huber is survived by his wife, Amanda, and two children, Brodie and Nolan.
