FIBA gives hosting rights to Clark, Pampanga in June
The FIBA has formally given the hosting rights to Clark for the third window of the 2021 Asia Cup qualifier
Per Fiba announcement on Friday night, Gilas Pilipinas will be hosting three groups inside the Clark bubble from June 16 to 20.
Gilas will join the Group A along with Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand; while Group B will be composed of China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, and Malaysia; and Group C, which has Australia, New Zealand, Guam, and Hong Kong.
“Organized in protected environment tournaments in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants, these games will determine the ten teams that will join Bahrain and Lebanon, already qualified for the event,” according to Fiba.
Gilas is scheduled to face Korea twice and Indonesia, as originally planned.
Team Pilipinas only needs one more win to secure a ticket for 2021 Fiba Asia Cup which will take place in Indonesia this August.
