Fil-Am Kamaka Hepa registers first points for New Orleans in NBA Summer League

Kamaka Hepa made a notable offensive impact for the New Orleans Pelicans as they concluded their 2023 NBA Summer League campaign with a narrow 117-114 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night (Monday, Manila time) at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Filipino-American forward concluded the game with six points, displaying a perfect shooting performance of 2-of-2 from the field and 2-of-3 from the free-throw line, all within 14 minutes of playtime.

Hepa made additional contributions to the game by securing five rebounds, providing one assist, and committing one turnover during the Pelicans’ final match in the week-long competition.

Hepa refrained from taking any shot attempts in his initial two matches with the Pelicans prior to this game.

The New Orleans Pelicans concluded their campaign with three wins and two losses but fell short of advancing to the semifinals due to the quotient tiebreaker.
