Kai Sotto faces criticism from Filipino netizens as NBA Summer League stint with Orlando comes to an end

After earning praise from jubilant Filipino fans for his strong performance against the Portland Trail Blazers, Kai Sotto did not receive the same level of support from Pinoy netizens as he concluded his NBA Summer League stint with the Orlando Magic on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time).

As the Magic’s game against the Boston Celtics unfolded, Filipino basketball fans unleashed heavy criticism on Sotto, with many expressing dissatisfaction as the 7-foot-3 center appeared lackluster and disinterested on the court.

Unbeknownst to the keyboard warriors, the Filipino cager had been contending with a lower back injury throughout his brief eight-minute appearance against the Celtics.

Sotto ended the game against the Celtics scoreless, failing to convert any of his three attempts. However, he managed to secure two rebounds, block a shot, and commit two turnovers and personal fouls each.
