PLDT’s Dell Palomata on staredown with Chery’s Imee Hernandez: ‘Trabaho Lang’

PLDT High Speed Hitters’ Dell Palomata’s staredown with Chery Tiggo Crossovers’ Imee Hernandez was one of the highlights of the two teams tightly contested game in the Premier Volleyball League Invitational on Tuesday night.

According to Palomata, she was extra challenged to face the middle blocker from the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses.

“A game is a game. Trabaho lang sa’kin,” Palomata said of her controversial antics with the PVL newcomer.

“Si Imee kasi magaling din siyang player. Siguro nadala lang ako sa intensity ng game,” she added. “Kaya napa-push ako ng ganun.”

Palomata said she was delighted that her team emerged on top against the Crossovers, 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 25-27, 15-12, as they gained the last seat to the semifinals round.

“Lahat ng pinaghirapan sa training, lahat ng sakit sa katawan, process by process, ‘di kami sumuko. Mas lalo kaming lumaban,” said Palomata, who tallied 14 points with two blocks in the win.

The High Speed Hitters will begin their single-round robin semifinal series against sister team Cignal HD Spikers on Thursday afternoon.
