Yeng Guiao to scout for import in FIBA World Cup
Starting August 25, the Philippines will co-host the FIBA World Cup.
Expect Rain or Shine’s Yeng Guiao to take advantage as he shops for an import suitable for his team.
“We are eyeing some potential [imports], but we haven’t really decided who we will choose,” Guiao said in a Manila Times report.
“Though one of our plans is maybe in the World Cup, since it will be held here, we could scout [for a potential import], that is, if we haven’t made a decision yet.”
Guiao is expected to serve as a color commentator for the tournament, which will give him the opportunity to interact with some of the world-class players from various foreign national teams.
The ROS tactician said it is tough looking for an import that could fit in at 6-foot-9 in the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
“It’s really difficult to find a 6-9 import these days who could fit the team. So if there’s a 6-7 import who can fit in, I will go for that. But again, I hope we can find a 6-9 import,” said Guiao.
