Filipino activists march in solidarity with Palestinians, two years since Al Aqsa Flood
MANILA — Filipino activists march in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for national liberation today, October 7, marking the second year of the Al Aqsa Flood — a coordinated operation of the Palestinians to resist Israel’s decades long illegal occupation to their lands. Mong Palatino, secretary general of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan), said that the current genocide in the Palestine did not start two years ago, but a culmination of over a century of conflict.
Since the Al Aqsa Flood, Israel launched relentless bombardment that killed more than 66,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health. Nearly 60 percent of the fatalities were children, women, and elderly. However, these numbers do not include deaths of those under the rubble, mass graves, or killed by indirect causes.
