Alaska’s Galliguez Now Safe After Scary Fall
Alaska Aces’ Abel Galliguez is now safe following his scary fall in their 104-83 defeat at the hands of TNT Tropang Giga in the quarterfinals of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday at the AUF Sports Arena & Cultural Center in Pampanga.
In the medical update from the Aces camp, as posted on the Twitter account of the PBA on Saturday evening, Galliguez underwent several stitches but has no fracture and concussion.
“Just finished all examinations & radiological (CT scan, xrays) procedures. Results were within normal limits, no signs of acute brain injury or skull, fascial, cervical fractures except for a fracture of the tip of the nasal bone, which will be addressed later as outpatient referral to an EENT,” Alaska said.
“There is also a 3 inch length laceration on the left eyebrow which required 20 stitches,” it added. “Presently no neurological symptoms and Abel is conscious, coherent except for a slight headache.”
Galliguez had a nasty fall after challenging Tropang Giga’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr. when he attacked the basket.
Both Galliguez and Parks went down following the collision but it was the former who got the worse of the collision, going down hard head-first to the floor, left bloodied and groggy as he was rushed to the hospital.
