OKC Thunder Shuts Down Al Horford

As they aim to develop their younger players, the Oklahoma City Thunder is set to shut down Al Horford for the rest of the 2020-2021 NBA Season.

In a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Horford will be no longer active for games this season as the Thunder plans to develop youngsters Moses Brown and Ivan Roby.

Despite the shut down, the five-time All-Star center will not be bought out as he plans to remain with his Thunders teammates and train at the team’s facility.

After season, Horford will have two-years, $53 million left on deal and Sam Presti has pledged to work w/ Horford and his agent Jason Glushon on finding a destination that fits better with this stage of his career.

Horford served as the Thunder’s starting center for most part of the season after arriving in OKC via trade from Philadelphia 76ers.
