It’s almost 4 a.m., but the Filipino fans were erupting on social media.

Believe it or not, the young Gilas Pilipinas actually took a 74-73 lead against world number 5 Serbia… with less than three minutes remaining in the game.

Gilas definitely scared the hell out of the Serbians, but NBA center Boban Marjanovic used his might to score clutch baskets for Serbia and barely escaped with a 83-76 victory.

Still, the fans considered this one a huge win since the Tab Baldwin-mentored squad definitely brought the fight against Serbia.

‘Gilas’ instantly became a trending topic on PH’s Twitter, as netizens rallied to give their respects to the national team.
