San Sebastian Lady Stags sweeps EAC in NCAA women’s volleyball
San Sebastian College-Recoletos Lady Stags opened their NCAA Season 97 women’s volleyball campaign with a 25-11, 25-13, 25-16 domination against Emilio Aguinaldo College on Sunday at Paco Arena.
Rookie Katherine Santos showed promise on her NCAA debut with 14 points, on 10 attacks and four service aces, while Reyann Canete chipped in eight markers for the Lady Stags.
Santos along with Kristine Dionisio, and Tina Marasigan spearheaded the scoring for the Lady Stags in the opening set where they unloaded nine attacks while also getting nine points off Lady Generals errors.
The Lady Stags were scorching to open the second frame as they quickly build a 16-6 advantage following back-to-back attacks from middle blocker Kamille Tan en route to a 2-0 set edge.
San Sebastian leaned on Jamille Carreon in the third set as she ignited for two attacks in a row to establish a 17-8 advantage before Shane Requierme closed the game with a down-the-line hit.
The Lady Stags will aim for its second victory when it battles Mapua University Lady Cardinals on Wednesday, while the Lady Generals will return to court on Friday against Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers.
