Kelly Oubre Jr. headed to Warriors
The Golden State Warriors will acquire Kelly Oubre Jr. via trade just few days after he was sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania both reported that Oubre Jr. will be heading to the Warriors after losing lost All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson for the 2020-21 season after he tore his right Achilles.
The small forward was acquired by the OKC from the Phoenix Suns in the Chris Paul trade.
Oubre Jr.’s has been great for the Suns last season, averaging 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from downtown.
The Warriors will definitely need Oubre Jr.’s shooting and defensive prowess in hopes of filling Thompson’s extended absence.
