Scottie Thompson works on outside shooting during quarantine

Despite being a well-rounded player, Scottie Thompson isn’t exactly known for his outside shooting entering the league.
That is not the case anymore.
In fact during the PBA Philippine Cup inside the bubble, the 27-year old hit two clutch triples in two playoff games for the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings.
First, Thompson hit a game-winning trey against the Meralco Bolts to advance in the Finals and he also hit a corner three Game 2 of the Finals against TNT Tropang Giga in final two minutes of the game as part of Ginebra’s comeback.
“Yung tiwala ng mga coaches (namin), and siyempre, yung mga teammates ko na veterans na patuloy na sinasabi kung ano yung weaknesses ko,” said Thompson who credits Ginebra’s coaching staff for telling to work on his shooting.
It did pay off especially that he worked on his shooting prowess during the offseason, in which a lockdown was implemented nationwide.
The former Finals MVP also credited Ginebra veteran and teammate Mark Caguioa for giving him the confidence to shoot more outside.
“Tine-take advantage ko yung mga pagkakakaton na puwede akong mag-extra work during quarantine,” he said. “So far naman, nag-pay off (siya).”
Si Kuya Mark, sinasabihan ako about sa shooting ko, kung kailan ko puwedeng itira,” he said. “Minsan kasi sabi niya, puwede ko nang i-tira, pero di ko tinitira.”
